Heaslip Wheel Labs are monthly advanced technique workshops for students who have already mastered the basics of throwing clay on the wheel. No ware will be fired -- the Lab is to hone skills through repetition. Students will practice forms over and over again under artist Holly Heaslip's expert guidance and receive constructive critique. Each Lab includes 2.5 hours of class time with Holly and 2 hours of Open Studio time to continue practicing. “Top to Bottom" Please bring some pots that are ready to trim. A nice pot can become a great pot by understanding placement and design based on function and aesthetics. Also rim treatments will be demonstrated and their importance stressed in the overall function and look of the piece. You can get creative with these and still have them function properly! Homework will be to explore various rims and feet. Take yourself out of your comfort zone! In the next class we will have “show and Tell” and share our discoveries. For those present in the June 3 class, we will spend some time discussing your findings! This is optional for those who did not attend the previous class. $50 Members, $56 Not-Yet-members.
